Another sold-out partnership event with St. Ben’s and St. Peter’s Councils, at Our Lady of Mercy Church Hall on Saturday, 29 April 2017, to support the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, Coats for Kids and other KofC charities.
Our Fraternal Advisor Dan Gimpel got the evening off to a good start by welcoming everyone, Father Savel provided further words of welcome and Fr. Vince Gulikers said grace. Our local MP Marilyn Gladu spoke about the Knights in very glowing terms and stressed on the importance of service to the community. Several other priests, deacons, District Deputies and Grand Knights made up for a glittering occasion.
A five course Italian menu was catered by our very own Giresi family – Joanna and Sam. Live musical performances were provided by Cynthia Fay (daughter of our Lecturer Richard) and Stephen Halsey, DJ Kip Cuthbert kept the dancers on their feet, when not otherwise rolling on the floor laughing! Line Dancing by Darlene Landers got the evening off to a great start. The gift basket draw, door prizes, spot prizes and the 50-50 draw kept everyone entertained. It was indeed a very entertaining evening. Thanks to the Giresis, all the volunteers (specially the servers), their families and friends, supporters, advertisers, fellow councilmen, priests, performers, the DJ, the MC and everyone else who might have been forgotten.
