Working hard to Stuff the Bus, several Knights cooked for store goers at Food Basics to help fill two Sarnia Transit buses with non-perishable food items to be passed along to the Salvation Army and the St. Vincent de Paul Society.

Shoppers responded enthusiastically by donating generously, especially badly needed items like diapers, toilet paper, feminine products, canned fruit and peanut butter.

Over 12,200 pounds of food was collected for the Salvation Army and St. Vincent de Paul Society, far surpassing last year’s total of about 10,000 pounds.

The two agencies will also share $1,667 in cash donations.
