Keep Christ in Christmas

During the Season of Advent, Knights of Columbus Councils are busy reminding everyone that Jesus is the Reason for the Season.  Celebrating Christmas is about Celebrating the birth of the Son of God!

Car Magnets, Christmas Cards, Buttons & Lawn Signs

It is not uncommon at this time of the year to get irritated when stores try to sanitize the Christmas Holidays by removing references to Jesus. Therefore, at this time of the year, the Knight of Council 1429 are busy distributing Keep Christ in Christmas Car Magnets as well as Christmas Cards, lawn signs and buttons.

Many people reach out to the Knights for symbols such as the Car Magnets to show the true meaning of Christmas and we play an important role in keeping the message strong.

Christmas Cards with Christ and the Holy Family as the central theme are sold at each of our four parishes as early as October for those wishing to get an early start in the race at the post.

All profits from the sales go toward supporting our parishes, St. Peter’s seminary, St Vincent de Paul and similar charities.

Poster Contest

In this society, Christmas has become for many – especially children – a secular holiday. To combat this, the Knights of Columbus has introduced the Keep Christ in Christmas poster contest. This program will allow young people to engage their creative talents and imaginations while understanding the true, spiritual meaning of Christmas.

Each year, Knights of Council 1429 engage the staff and students of Sacred Heart and Gregory Hogan schools to participate in this contest that is open to all young people between the ages of 5 and 14. Winners selected at the council level earn cash prizes and the eligibility to move on to the District, Regional, State and International levels.

You will likely have seen and are familiar with the creche that the Knights of Council 1429 set up every year at Our Lady of Mercy Church, at the corner of Christina Street and London Road.
