Council 1429 supports the Sacred Heart and St. Michael travelling chalices (Elijah Cup) program. Chalices (donated by parishioners) were ordered from the Knights supply store and seed money was provided by council 1429 to get the program off the ground. Ongoing support from Council ensures the program will continue to grow. Brother Tony Scarpelli leads the program.

Each Sunday at a different Mass, the chalice is presented to a different family, couple or individual. The chalice which is taken home for a week provides a focal point of prayer for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life. All families, couples, and individuals are invited to bring the chalice into their home and to pray for vocations for a week. Sign up sheets are on the bulletin boards at the entrances of the churches.
